This internship at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) in New York, USA offers a unique chance to work directly on international peace, disarmament, and global security issues. You will support UNODA’s Regional Disarmament, Information and Outreach Branch and contribute to communication, research, drafting, and policy-related tasks at the heart of the UN.

🔎 What You Will Do

• ✍️ Draft and prepare official documents, talking points, speeches, and summaries
• 🌐 Conduct document, media, and internet research
• 🧩 Support conferences, meetings, and high-level events
• 💻 Assist with communication and multimedia content for web & social platforms
• 🌍 Contribute to content development about global disarmament efforts
• 📰 Assist with web content and social media updates
• 🎯 Participate in developing strategic communication products
• 🔍 Work on data, stories, and outreach materials related to global peace & security

🎓 Who Can Apply

• Enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programme
• Strong interest in international relations, peace, security, political affairs
• Excellent written and spoken English (UN languages are an advantage)
• Strong communication and drafting skills
• Ability to work in a multicultural, international environment

• Hybrid / in-person / remote options possible depending on the selected candidate

⏳ Duration

• 6 months (full-time preferred; part-time possible upon request)

💼 Financial Conditions

• UNPAID internship (standard UN policy)
