✨ Project Overview

Experience life in one of Portugal’s most authentic villages while making a real social impact!
The project “Volunteering in Lousã: Local Development Project”, hosted by Activar – Associação de Cooperação da Lousã, promotes community engagement, solidarity, and intercultural learning through creative local actions.

Volunteers will support activities for children, youth, and the elderly, contribute to cultural and non-formal education, and assist in communication, tourism, and event organisation.
Your efforts will help build inclusion, participation, and sustainable community growth in Lousã.

💡 What You’ll Do

• 👧 Work with children, youth, and seniors in local community spaces
• 🎨 Assist in cultural, creative, and non-formal learning activities
• 🧩 Support tourism, communication, and event organisation
• 🌿 Foster intercultural exchange and active citizenship
• 💬 Contribute to projects promoting sustainability and inclusion

🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport

• Fully equipped flat in the centre of Lousã — single or double rooms
• Monthly food allowance provided
• Easy access to services (shops, cafes, post office, gym, nature & culture sites)
• Public transport and bus connection to Coimbra
• Walking or cycling distance to workplaces; Activar’s van available for longer trips

🎓 Training & Support

• On-arrival training by the Portuguese National Agency
• “On the job” training within Activar’s departments
• Regular mentoring, team meetings, and personal guidance
• Access to Online Linguistic Support (OLS) to learn Portuguese
• Motivation and skill-development support throughout your stay

👤 Who Can Apply

We’re looking for motivated, curious young people (18–30) who:

• Enjoy working with people of all ages 👩‍👧‍👦
• Are flexible, open-minded, and eager to help in community life
• Have creative talents (music, painting, crafts — a plus!)
• Want to learn Portuguese and immerse in local culture
• Don’t need prior experience — just enthusiasm and positivity!
