When I first saw the announcement for a Non-Formal Education Training Course in France ๐ซ๐ท, I knew it was something special. ๐โจ
A few weeks later, I arrived at a cozy training venue surrounded by 40 incredible young people from ๐ต๐น Portugal, ๐ซ๐ทFrance, ๐ฎ๐น Italy, ๐น๐ท Tรผrkiye, ๐ง๐ฌ Bulgaria, ๐ซ๐ฎ Finland, ๐ฉ๐ฐ Denmark, ๐ฉ๐ช Germany, ๐ธ๐ช Sweden, and ๐ฑ๐น Lithuania โ each of us curious, open-minded, and ready to learn together.
For five unforgettable days, we explored what it really means to learn beyond classrooms. ๐ก๐ฌ
๐ What Is Non-Formal Education?
Before this experience, I believed learning only happened in schools or universities.
But during this Erasmus+ project, I discovered something entirely new โ a world where education means freedom, creativity, and self-expression. ๐จโจ
We learned through games, storytelling, debates, and outdoor challenges.
One day, we built a โbridge of trustโ blindfolded ๐ค; another day, we created theatre plays to address real-world issues like inclusion and mental health. ๐ญ๐ฑ
Every task had a hidden purpose โ teamwork, empathy, leadership, communication.
By the end, I realized that non-formal education teaches you not only about the world, but also about yourself. ๐๐
๐ A Week of Connection, Culture & Growth
Our group felt like a big European family. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
Mornings began with energizers full of laughter and music ๐ถโ๏ธ, and nights were filled with intercultural eveningswhere we shared food, songs, and traditions.
I proudly presented Lithuanian pink soup ๐ฑ๐น๐, while tasting French cheese ๐ซ๐ท, Italian pasta ๐ฎ๐น, Turkish baklava ๐น๐ท, and Finnish chocolate ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ซ.
Every night reminded us that diversity is our greatest strength โ we spoke different languages, yet understood each other perfectly through smiles, energy, and curiosity. ๐ฌ๐ซ
๐ฑ Lessons That Stay Forever
These five days changed the way I see learning and life.
I discovered that:
โญ True learning happens when you feel safe and inspired.
โญ Mistakes are steps, not failures.
โญ The best classrooms have no walls.
When I came back to Vilnius ๐ฑ๐น, I started helping my local youth center organize creative workshops using non-formal tools I learned in France. It felt like the beginning of something bigger โ a ripple effect of learning, friendship, and inspiration. ๐
๐ฌ Aldonaโs Message to You

Pack your courage, curiosity, and openness. โจ
