The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange βBeyond Boundaries: Freedom of Expressionβ invites young people from across Europe to come together in Hagen, Germany π©πͺ, to explore what freedom of expression truly means in todayβs world.
Through interactive workshops, creative discussions, and intercultural exchange, youβll learn how to express your ideas confidently, respect diverse opinions, and stand up for democratic values. πβ¨
This project is the perfect opportunity for young people who want to think critically, speak freely, and connect across borders β because ideas can change the world. π¬πͺ

Participants will stay at ZIBB β Youth Center of Intercultural Education Berchum, a cozy venue surrounded by nature, offering a welcoming space for reflection and collaboration.

ποΈ Main Activity Days: 31 January β 8 February 2026
Participants are expected to arrive on 31 January (17:00β19:00) and depart on 8 February 2026.

This youth exchange will bring together 21 participants aged 18β30 from four countries:

π©πͺ Germany
π·πΈ Serbia
πΉπ· TΓΌrkiye
Each country will be represented by 5 participants, and Serbia will also provide 1 group leader.
π― Project Aim
This project aims to help young people better understand freedom of expression, encouraging them to respect diverse viewpoints and contribute actively to democratic life.
Participants will also explore the difference between hate speech and free speech, develop media literacy and critical thinking skills, and learn how to share their ideas with ethical responsibility and empathy. ποΈπ¬
β¨ What to Expect
Throughout the exchange, participants will:
π¨ Join interactive workshops on freedom of speech and human rights
π‘ Take part in creative group activities and discussions
π± Explore media literacy & digital awareness
π Design awareness campaigns against hate speech
π€ Celebrate culture & dialogue during intercultural evenings
This will be a journey of both reflection and creativity β beyond borders, beyond fear, and beyond silence. πβ¨
π½οΈ Accommodation & Meals
All accommodation, meals, and project materials are covered by the Erasmus+ Programme.
Meals will be mostly vegetarian, and special dietary needs will be respected. πΏ
πΆ Travel Costs & Reimbursement
Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to Erasmus+ distance rules:

π©πͺ Germany β up to β¬28 (β¬56 for green travel)
π·πΈ Serbia β up to β¬309
πΉπ· TΓΌrkiye β up to β¬395
Participants must keep all travel tickets and receipts. Refunds may not be issued for those who fail to attend project sessions.
