โœจ About the Project

Tokenism in Youth Work aims to explore the concept of tokenism โ€” its forms, manifestations, and impact on youth participation. This training equips participants with the knowledge, strategies, and tools to ensure meaningful, inclusive, and empowering youth involvement. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ก

Through non-formal education methods and experiential learning, participants will:

  • Understand tokenism and its consequences ๐Ÿงฉ
  • Explore frameworks such as the participation ladder, co-creation, and inclusive youth practices ๐Ÿ“š
  • Recognize and address power imbalances, privilege, and representation issues in youth work โš–๏ธ
  • Develop strategies and local action plans for inclusive youth participation ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

๐Ÿ“š Learning Objectives

  1. Explore tokenism in youth work and its impact.
  2. Learn tools and frameworks for meaningful participation (participation ladder, co-creation, inclusive practices).
  3. Strengthen competences to recognize and address privilege, power, and representation issues.
  4. Plan inclusive, local-level activities that empower all young people.

๐Ÿ  Accommodation & Venue

Participants will stay at JH International (Potsdamer Platz area, Berlin):

  • Sharedย 3โ€“4 bed rooms with bunk bedsย ๐Ÿ›๏ธ
  • Shared bathrooms, free Wi-Fi ๐ŸŒ
  • Bed sheets provided (bring your own towels)
  • Easy access to public transport ๐Ÿš‹

Meals and coffee breaks will be fully covered.

  • Arrival:ย 31 October 2025, 17:00โ€“19:00ย (welcome dinner served 19:00โ€“20:00).
  • Departure:ย 5 November 2025, after breakfast.
  • The project is fully funded byย Erasmus+: travel reimbursement, accommodation, and meals included.
