Dive deep into the complex history and rich memory culture of Croatia with the Erasmus+ Seminar “European Culture(s) of Remembrance: Croatia in Focus”, taking place from 6-12 September 2025 in Zagreb & Rijeka, Croatia. This advanced seminar is part of the long-term project series “Venues of Victims // Venues of Perpetrators”, focusing on the vital role of historical civic education in European youth work.

Join youth workers, trainers, educators, museum and memorial site staff, researchers, and civil society actors from across Europe to:

• Understand how Croatia’s history — from World War II to the Yugoslav era and the Croatian War of Independence — shapes its culture of remembrance today.
• Visit impactful memorial sites such as Jasenovac Memorial, Memorial Centre “Lipa pamti”, Goli Otok political prison remains, and the Museum of the Homeland War in Karlovac.
• Explore debates around historical narratives, monuments, and public memory in Croatia.
