🌟 ABOUT THE PROJECT
Are you passionate about solidarity, interculturality, and community engagement? This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering project in Águeda is an opportunity to make an impact in youth work, education, and social inclusion while immersing yourself in Portuguese culture.
As a volunteer, you will:
✅ Work on educational, social, and cultural initiatives in collaboration with local youth centers and schools.
✅ Promote solidarity, diversity, and intercultural dialogue through workshops and events.
✅ Support community-building activities, youth projects, and mentoring programs.
✅ Develop personal projects and gain entrepreneurial skills.
This project is hosted by Psientífica Association & Águeda Youth Center, fostering active citizenship and empowerment.
🏡 LIVING IN ÁGUEDA
🌆 About the City: Águeda is a vibrant town known for its colorful umbrella street, cultural events, and Portuguese traditions. Located 72km from Porto, it offers a mix of urban and rural landscapes.
👥 Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in fully equipped apartments, with all utilities covered.
🍽 Food & Allowance:
- €6/day pocket money 💰
- €180/month for food expenses 🍽
- Volunteers will have access to a kitchen and local food markets.
🚍 Transport: The project covers local transport, and travel costs will be reimbursed based on distance.
📚 TRAINING & SUPPORT
🛠 Pre-Departure Preparation
📖 On-Arrival & Mid-Term Training by the Portuguese National Agency
👨🏫 Mentoring & Psychological Support throughout the project
🗣 Portuguese language support through an online platform
🙌 WHO CAN APPLY?
✔ Aged 18-30
✔ Motivated to engage in volunteering, youth work, and community-building
✔ Open-minded, creative, and proactive
✔ Interested in Erasmus+ and ESC opportunities
✔ Preferably with fewer opportunities (economic, social, cultural, or geographical challenges)
✔ No prior ESC experience required!
