❗️What Is This Training About?
"Roots": we will work on 5 pillars of life that shape the crucial transition to adulthood: - Well-being - Finances - Daytime activities - Network - Housing

ℹ️ Description About The Opportunity
by exploring a theoretical framework, exchanging good practices and sharpening our skills, we aim to guide youngsters on the brink of adulthood towards a stable foundation for the future. Becoming an adult means balancing different things at once.
In this course for youth workers, youth leaders, youth coaches, youth project managers and volunteering mentors, we focus on 5 pillars of life that shape this crucial transition to adulthood:
- Well-being: Feeling good mentally and physically.
- Finances: Managing money and achieving financial independence.
- Daytime activities: Building education, career paths, and future goals.
- Network: Creating a strong support system of friends, family, and professionals.
- Housing: Finding or maintaining a safe and stable place to live.
Objectives:
- I understand the theoretical framework of “the big 5”, the 5 pillars of life, and why they are important for young people’s development and independence in the transition to adulthood.
- I feel empowered to guide young people toward the stable foundation they need (across the 5 pillars of life) to grow and develop. I can do this in a strength-based and participatory manner, taking the young people’s talents into account.
- I recognize potential signs that a young person experiences challanges and/or needs additional support in one or more of the 5 pillars.
- I am familiar with best practices and tools to support young people when they are falling behind in one or more areas of life.

Participation fee
We do not expect a participation fee.
Accommodation and food
We will organise food and provide accommodation. No fee is expected from the participants.
We will welcome you in the “Berkelhoeve”. Our youth and training venue in the middle of rural Belgium! The terrain covers 18 hectare of nature.
Important to know: You will most likely share a room with someone else. If for some reason you’d need to have a room for yourself, please let us know and we will take this into account.

Travel reimbursement
All costs during the TC will be covered by Erasmus+.
You will receive a maximum budget for your travel to Belgium according to the distance you’ll cover and the way of travel. We will not be able to cover the extra costs above these amounts. You can find the budgets for this here.

It’s easiest to fly to Brussels Airport (Zaventem), Belgium:
Transportation: Train is the easiest to arrive close to our venue. Train from Brussels (Zaventem) Airport to Herentals station (you can take the train directly under the airport, by following the signs of the trains when you leave the bagage claim.) On sunday you will have to switch trains in Antwerpen-Berchem. In Antwerpen-Berchem you switch trains and have 2 options: Train in direction Hamont (second stop is Herentals) or train direction Turnhout (fifth stop is Herentals)

When you arrive in Herentals station on october 4th, we will pick you up by car and guide you to the accommodation. Please plan to arrive between 16:00 and 18:00.
If for some reason, you cannot fly to Brussels Airport (Zaventem, Not charleroi!) please let us know and we will see what is the most convenient way for you to travel.
Arrivals in the venue are only allowed from 16h00 as we get the keys at that time, so in your travels consider this. It’s always nice to visit the city of Antwerp or Brussels if you have an earlier flight.
