23 Fully Funded ESC Placements Across 12 Countries, from Ireland to Honduras 🌍

Volunteer abroad fully funded this autumn: 23 European Solidarity Corps placements are open right now across twelve countries and two continents. Every one is fully funded, so whether you are new to this or a returning volunteer, what the European Solidarity Corps is comes down to a simple promise: the EU pays young people to volunteer on solidarity projects, and ESC volunteering really is fully funded, covering travel, accommodation, food, insurance and a monthly allowance. This batch is wonderfully varied. You could care for animals on an organic farm in Bavaria, film butterflies at a museum in Italy, run non-formal learning inside a prison in Sint Maarten with the UN, support asylum seekers at the foot of the Dolomites, or keep the books running for Médicos del Mundo in Honduras. Two of these are ESC Volunteering Teams, short group projects ideal if you would rather arrive as part of a crew, and one, the Honduras placement, falls under the Humanitarian Aid strand, open up to age 35.

Whoever you are, something here fits. Drawn to social care and inclusion? There are placements with children, young girls, unaccompanied minors, refugees, seniors and prison residents across Italy, France, Poland and beyond. Into culture, media and the arts? Film butterflies in Bordano, build a virtual museum tour in Romania, or run street-art festivals in Bulgaria. More of an outdoors and sustainability person? An organic farm in Bavaria, a sustainable community in County Clare, and a rural eco-centre in Croatia are waiting. Most of these are standard ESC placements for ages 18 to 30, open to applicants from across Europe and its neighbours, though a few are reserved for particular countries and the Sint Maarten team is for volunteers aged 23+, so read the eligibility line on each before you apply.
