Description
MdM has extensive experience in initiatives focused on the universal right to health, gender from a human rights perspective, and special attention to vulnerable groups. The aim of the role is to contribute to the implementation of measures that ensure the proper administrative and accounting management of MdM. The volunteer’s tasks would be as follows: to receive and check bank statements against account statements; to assist with, review, organise and digitise the project’s monthly accounting documentation, for timely submission to MdM’s head office in Madrid. Provide support in the preparation for and handling of internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with established deadlines. Provide direct support to the project management team in the administrative management of human resources, including: Keeping track of annual leave, sick leave, absences, leave of absence, and staff appointments and resignations. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteer headquarters will be in Tegucigalpa. The volunteer will be accommodated in one of the houses of MdM and will receive a monthly allowance to cover his/her food expenses of 700 €. Accommodation; return flights; visa and vaccination costs; health insurance; and basic equipment (laptop & mobile phone) will be provided and covered during deployment. Transportation and accommodation will also be provided and covered for all work-related travel. The volunteer will have access to specific workspaces, in accordance with the tasks assigned to them and under agreed, safe working conditions.
Training during the activity
The successful candidate, in addition to receiving the compulsory EU training, will attend a briefing on MdM and an induction to the role at the MdM office in Madrid and Tegucigalpa. This induction will include, alongside project-specific content, training on the minimum standards and guidelines for humanitarian action when assisting displaced populations and victims or those at risk of various forms of violence. This unique experience aims to provide the volunteer with learning opportunities on a continuous basis on several levels during deployment.
Participant profile
Bachelor's degree in economics, administración, public accounting or related fields. - Work skills in multicultural environments. - Strategic Vision, Leadership, Teamwork, Collaboration and Resistance to stress. - Financial and Technical Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation, Planning. - Office Pack (Word, Excel) and Internet. - Experience in International Cooperation would be an asset. - Experience in similar functions would be an asset. - Good level of Spanish.
Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months
