The United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) supports UN Member States in planning and implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals through knowledge sharing, capacity development, policy advisory, research, and partnerships, with a particular focus on Least Developed Countries, Small Island Developing States and Landlocked Developing States. UNOSD mainly focuses on SDGs 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17.
UNOSD was established in 2011 by the United Nations and the Government of the Republic of Korea. It is supported by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea, Incheon Metropolitan City and Yonsei University, and it is part of the Division for Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
๐ Duties and Responsibilities
๐ Conduct research, data recording and editing, policy analysis and synthesis
๐ฑ Develop and maintain platforms of dissemination of UNOSD data, news and research through social media and other means
โ๏ธ Draft and translate communication materials of events and research products
๐ช Assist with the logistics of organizing UNOSD flagship and annual activities and events such as forums, conferences, trainings and workshops
๐๏ธ Perform administrative and clerical work related to the above, and any other duties assigned

โ Qualifications and Special Skills
๐ Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme, meaning a second university degree or equivalent or higher, or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme, meaning minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent
๐ A field of study closely related to the type of internship is required, while professional work experience is not required
๐ป Applicants should have advanced knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams
โ๏ธ Applicants should have proficiency in writing and drafting complex documents in written English
๐ช Any experience with organizing international conferences, forums and events is desirable
๐ฑ Any experience with conducting research related to environmental issues is desirable
๐ฃ๏ธ Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship, and knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
