Armenia’s largest paediatric medical structure, thousands of children receiving care every year, and a volunteer role that puts you right in the middle of that work. This ESC placement is for someone who is ready to contribute meaningfully in a medical and social context β and who wants to genuinely understand what healthcare looks like beyond their own country’s borders.
Arabkir Joint Medical Center β Institute of Child and Adolescent Health (Arabkir JMC) is the largest paediatric structure in Armenia, providing medical services across prevention, diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation for children and adolescents with a wide range of conditions β from chronic urological and surgical issues to epilepsy, diabetes, bronchial asthma, and psycho-social needs. The centre also provides emergency care and a number of services for adults.
This placement is organised in partnership with sending organisation ICJA β Freiwilligenaustausch Weltweit and is open to participants from Germany only.
What Is This Role About?
As a volunteer at Arabkir JMC, you will be integrated into the work and activities of the organisation with support from the centre’s specialists and staff. The role is built around active contribution, coordination support, and learning β with language training built in to help you navigate daily life and work in Armenia throughout your placement.

Training & Support
π©ββοΈ Support and training provided by the centre’s specialists and staff throughout the entire placement β helping the volunteer integrate into the work and activities of the organisation
π Two Armenian language lessons per week for the full duration of the service β taught by an experienced tutor of Armenian as a foreign language
π Ongoing support to gain knowledge of the field and improve competences related to the work at Arabkir JMC
