A youth centre in Kielce, Poland is seeking 8 creative volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) to leave a lasting artistic mark on the community. Over 40 days, you will design and paint an original mural, revitalise a children’s playground, lead workshops, and co-organise a Multicultural Children’s Day Festival โ all while supporting the daily life of a vibrant youth centre. No prior experience is required โ just creativity, openness, and a full commitment to the project duration.
๐ Did You Know? Kielce is one of Poland’s oldest cities, with roots stretching back over a thousand years, and sits at the heart of the ลwiฤtokrzyskie region โ home to some of the oldest mountain ranges in Europe. Despite being less internationally known than Warsaw or Krakรณw, it has a thriving local culture, a large student population, and a growing reputation as a hub for youth work and community initiatives.
What Will You Do?
๐๏ธ Mural Design & Painting: Design and paint an original mural on the Oratorium building wall or fence โ a permanent artistic legacy for the children and community of Kielce.
๐ Playground Revitalisation: Transform and renovate the outdoor playground into a colourful, safe, and inspiring space for the children who use the centre daily.
๐ช Multicultural Children’s Day Festival: Co-organise and run the grand finale festival โ officially unveiling the mural and playground while hosting cultural stalls showcasing your home country’s traditions and cuisine.
๐ญ Workshops & Animation: Lead daily workshops based on your own talents โ sports, music, arts, games โ for the children at the youth centre (working hours: 1โ7 pm).
๐ค Daily Youth Support: Be present in the daily life of the centre, providing support, encouragement, and minor educational assistance to the children throughout the project.
๐ Did You Know? Mural art has become one of the most powerful tools for urban regeneration across Europe. Studies on community art projects show that public murals created with youth involvement significantly improve children’s sense of belonging, local pride, and emotional well-being โ making projects like this one far more than just a creative exercise.
Who Can Apply?
๐จ No Prior Experience Required: All necessary skills can be developed during the project itself. What matters is your creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment.

Full Duration Commitment (Mandatory): Volunteers must be able to stay for the complete duration of the project. Partial participation is not accepted. Participants are welcomed regardless of gender, beliefs, preferences, or level of education.
Accommodation, Food & Travel
๐ Accommodation: Volunteers live in 3โ4 person flats with private rooms and shared kitchen, bathroom, and living space โ located near the city centre or well connected by public transport.
๐ฝ๏ธ Food Allowance: A daily food allowance of โฌ3.28 is provided.
๐ฐ Pocket Money: โฌ6 per day pocket money is provided throughout the project.
๐ Local Transport: Free public transport is covered for the duration of the volunteering activity.
โ๏ธ Travel Costs: International travel costs are covered according to the ESC distance band system.
๐ก๏ธ Insurance: Henner insurance is provided for all volunteers throughout the project.
Training & Learning
๐ผ๏ธ Co-creation & DIY Skills: Peer-to-peer learning environment where you develop the mural project and renovation techniques together with the team and practitioners โ sharing artistic and manual skills throughout.
๐ง Youth Work in Action: Hands-on experience in a live youth centre context, co-creating animation methods and original games for children alongside fellow volunteers.
๐ Team Event Management: Joint planning of the multicultural festival โ learning logistics, international teamwork, and having a real say in the final shape of the event.
