A free democratic primary school and nursery in Pลรญbor, Czech Republic is looking for an ESC volunteer to join their community and bring their language, culture, and energy into a unique educational environment built on Teal organisation principles. You will become a genuine part of daily school life โ supporting guides, participating in morning circles, joining lessons and events, and contributing to a space where children learn through freedom, responsibility, and self-direction. What Will You Do?

Start each school day at 8:15 by joining the morning circle โ a core ritual of the democratic school community โ and assist guides throughout the day until 14:30 at the latest
๐ฃ๏ธBring your English language skills and your own cultural background into the classroom, enriching the self-directed learning environment for children
๐ซBecome an inherent part of school life โ participating in lessons, activities, and events both on the school premises and outdoors
๐Help plan and organise school trips, events, and community activities alongside guides and students
๐คWork daily within a community built on equal rights, shared responsibility, and freedom โ experiencing democratic education from the inside
๐ฑContribute your own knowledge, ideas, and creativity to the school community โ this is a two-way exchange, not just assistance

Accommodation, Food & Travel
๐ You will be accommodated in the school’s newly acquired building โ your room is fully equipped with fresh bed linen, toilet, shower, washbasin, and full heating in winter
๐ณYou can prepare your own meals in the accommodation โ small shops, a supermarket, and restaurants are all available in the town of Pลรญbor

Training & Learning

Who Can Apply?
๐ฃ๏ธYou have a good level of English โ this is the primary working language and the key contribution you bring to the school community
๐งYou have experience teaching or working with children โ this is an important requirement for this placement
๐Candidates who have studied in the pedagogical field and have experience with free and democratic education systems are preferred
๐ฑYou are open to self-directed learning principles, Teal organisation values, and a non-hierarchical school environment
