🌍 EU Grant for Organisations 🎨 Culture Moves Europe — Call for Residency Hosts 2025–2026 🌍
Is your organisation active in architecture, cultural heritage, design, fashion design, literature, music, performing arts, or visual arts — and ready to host international artists and cultural professionals for a residency project? Culture Moves Europe, the European Union’s dedicated cultural mobility scheme, is offering grants to legal entities in Creative Europe countries that wish to host between 1 and 5 international residents. Hosts receive a daily hosting allowance, and residents receive travel and daily allowances — all funded through the programme. This is an open call for organisations of all sizes, whether newly established or long-running. Deadline to apply: 16 March 2026 at 23:59 CET.
🎨 Did You Know? Culture Moves Europe is the EU’s first dedicated mobility scheme specifically for cultural and creative professionals — launched as part of the Creative Europe programme. It is administered by the Goethe-Institut on behalf of the European Commission and covers artists and cultural professionals working across 8 creative sectors in all Creative Europe countries.
What Does the Residency Grant Offer?
🏛️Hosting allowance for the organisation: €50 per day, per resident hosted — paid directly to the host organisation for the full duration of the residency
♿Accessibility support for the host: a fixed amount of €375, €675, or €1,200 (depending on residency duration) to cover any extra costs related to residents’ accessibility needs
🏠Accommodation: provided directly by the residency host — not covered as a separate grant item
Mobility Grant for Residents
The host organisation receives and manages the mobility grant on behalf of its residents. It covers the following for each participating artist or cultural professional:

Who Can Apply?
🏢Any legal entity — non-profit, private, public body, foundation, or similar — registered and based in a Creative Europe country, including overseas countries and territories and outermost regions
🎭The organisation must be active in at least one of the eligible sectors: architecture, cultural heritage, design and fashion design, literature, music, performing arts, or visual arts
🌍The organisation must have the capacity to host between 1 and 5 international artists or cultural professionals from other Creative Europe countries — all on the same dates and for the same duration
👨🏫At least one mentor must be available within the organisation to provide artistic guidance to the resident(s) throughout the project
✅Both newly established and well-established organisations are eligible — there is no minimum years-of-operation requirement
What Is Required to Apply?
📋A concept for a residency project that follows at least 2 of these objectives: to learn, to create, to explore, to connect, or to transform
🏠Demonstrated capacity to provide adequate accommodation and dedicated workspaces for the resident artists throughout the project
📄Supporting documents: proof of legal entity, the organisation’s artistic portfolio or promotional report, and short CVs of all proposed mentors
🌐The application form must be completed in English — language skills are not evaluated, and the use of online translation tools is explicitly permitted
Two-Phase Process
1️⃣Phase 1 — Application: Submit your residency project proposal with all required documents through the Goethe-Application Portal (GAP). All applications are reviewed after the 16 March 2026 deadline. Results communicated by 5 May 2026.
2️⃣Phase 2 — Resident Selection: If selected in Phase 1, you proceed to choose your resident artists and cultural professionals and submit the residency info card. This can be done any time between 5 May 2026 and 30 September 2026. Residency projects can begin from 8 June 2026 and must be completed by 7 July 2027.
