🌍 About the Volunteering Project

This ESC Individual Volunteering project takes place in Crotone, Southern Italy, hosted by a social cooperative working in the fields of culture, tourism and youth education.

The project combines sustainable tourism, hostel management and youth engagement activities. During the summer months, volunteers will support the management of a hostel located in the historic town of Crotone. During autumn and winter, volunteers will continue helping with hostel activities while also contributing to educational activities with local schools and youth groups.

The experience offers an opportunity to develop practical skills in hospitality, communication, youth work and community engagement while living in a coastal town in southern Italy.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Volunteer Activities

🏨 Support daily hostel management activities including reception and administration
🧹 Assist with cleaning and maintenance of hostel spaces and rooms
🌍 Support local trips and activities organised for young people
📍 Assist the tourist information point of the Municipality of Crotone
📱 Manage communication activities including website updates and social media
🏫 Support educational meetings, workshops and activities with local schools
🎤 Promote the ESC programme and share volunteering experiences with young people

🏡 Accommodation, Food and Transport

🏠 Accommodation provided inside the hostel in a shared double room
💶 Pocket money of €5 per day
🍽 Food allowance of €160 per month
✈️ Travel costs reimbursed according to European Commission ESC travel rules

📚 Training and Support

🎓 Volunteers will participate in On-arrival and Mid-term Trainings organised by the Italian National Agency
🤝 The project is coordinated by Associazione Joint
