🌍 This ESC Volunteering Teams project takes place in Magdeburg, Germany 🇩🇪 from 26 July 2026 to 30 August 2026.

During this project, volunteers will support the creation and implementation of “Ottopia” – a children’s city run entirely by kids aged 8–14.

🎯 About the Project

🏗 Support the building, dismantling and implementation of the Children’s City
👧 Work with up to 400 local and international (French and Polish) children
🗳 Experience a city run by children: professions, elections, taxes and currency
🤝 Promote democratic participation, independence and social skills through play
🌱 Act as a supervisor supporting children in implementing their ideas

For two weeks, the garden transforms into “Ottopia”, where children create and manage their own city.

There will be a mandatory online training prior to arrival for all selected volunteers.

🏠 Accommodation & Financial Support

🏡 Shared rooms (up to four people) at the facility
🛏 Towels and sheets provided
🍽 3 meals per day prepared by kitchen staff
💶 Food budget on free days
💰 Pocket money: 7 € per day
✈ Travel reimbursement according to Erasmus+ distance rates

🎓 Training & Support

📌 On-arrival orientation and detailed role explanation
👥 Guidance from pedagogical staff and long-term volunteers
🤝 Team-building and preparation for working with children
💬 Continuous support from the project team

Volunteers are expected to work independently and support each other in assigned tasks.

🗣 Able to communicate freely in English (German welcomed)
