🇮🇹🏠🤝 European Solidarity Corps Volunteering in Italy – Supporting At-Risk Boys in a Housing Community in Sicily 🇮🇹

🌍 Project Overview
This European Solidarity Corps Individual Volunteering project takes place in Menfi, Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹 and focuses on supporting at-risk boys aged 13–18 who are on a pathway toward rehabilitation, social inclusion, and independent living.
Volunteers will become part of a small residential community, sharing daily life with the youngsters and supporting educators through educational, social, and creative activities.

🎯 Main Activities & Responsibilities
📚 Supporting after-school education (homework help, language support, learning activities)
🎭 Designing and leading creative workshops (theatre, music, cooking, arts)
🗣️ Language exchange and intercultural learning
🎉 Organising celebrations and special community events
🍽️ Supporting daily community life (meal preparation, shared responsibilities, maintaining welcoming spaces)
🚶 Exploring the local area and accompanying youngsters on trips and activities

🏠 Accommodation, Food & Working Conditions
🏡 Shared flat in Menfi with double bedrooms, kitchen, dining area and 2 bathrooms
💶 Pocket money: 6€ per day
🍽️ Monthly food support: 100€
🗓️ 5 working days per week (max. 35 hours/week)
🌴 2 consecutive days off per week + 2 extra free days per month (not on weekends, not overlapping with other volunteers)

📚 Training & Learning Opportunities
🎓 On-Arrival training with the coordinating organisation and Italian National Agency
🇮🇹 Italian online language course
🛠️ Specific training related to community work and youth support
📊 Mid-term and final evaluation meetings

👤 Participant Profile
✨ Aged approximately 23–30
🤝 Ready to work with boys (13–18) from diverse social backgrounds
🎓 Background or experience in social work, psychology, or youth work
🧠 Patient, responsible, creative, and respectful of rules
🗣️ Communicative, open-minded, proactive and adaptable
🌱 Willing to live in a small town and learn Italian
📄 CV and motivation letter must be submitted in English
