The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange โ€œBeyond Boundaries: Freedom of Expressionโ€ invites young people from across Europe to come together in Hagen, Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช, to explore what freedom of expression truly means in todayโ€™s world.

Through interactive workshops, creative discussions, and intercultural exchange, youโ€™ll learn how to express your ideas confidently, respect diverse opinions, and stand up for democratic values. ๐ŸŒโœจ

This project is the perfect opportunity for young people who want to think critically, speak freely, and connect across borders โ€” because ideas can change the world. ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ’ช

Participants will stay at ZIBB โ€“ Youth Center of Intercultural Education Berchum, a cozy venue surrounded by nature, offering a welcoming space for reflection and collaboration.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Main Activity Days: 31 January โ€“ 8 February 2026

Participants are expected to arrive on 31 January (17:00โ€“19:00) and depart on 8 February 2026.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Participants

This youth exchange will bring together 21 participants aged 18โ€“30 from four countries:

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Germany

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ธ Serbia

๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท Tรผrkiye

Each country will be represented by 5 participants, and Serbia will also provide 1 group leader.

๐ŸŽฏ Project Aim

This project aims to help young people better understand freedom of expression, encouraging them to respect diverse viewpoints and contribute actively to democratic life.

Participants will also explore the difference between hate speech and free speech, develop media literacy and critical thinking skills, and learn how to share their ideas with ethical responsibility and empathy. ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฌ

โœจ What to Expect

Throughout the exchange, participants will:

๐ŸŽจ Join interactive workshops on freedom of speech and human rights

๐Ÿ’ก Take part in creative group activities and discussions

๐Ÿ“ฑ Explore media literacy & digital awareness

๐ŸŽญ Design awareness campaigns against hate speech

๐Ÿค Celebrate culture & dialogue during intercultural evenings

This will be a journey of both reflection and creativity โ€” beyond borders, beyond fear, and beyond silence. ๐ŸŒโœจ

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Accommodation & Meals

All accommodation, meals, and project materials are covered by the Erasmus+ Programme.

Meals will be mostly vegetarian, and special dietary needs will be respected. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿ’ถ Travel Costs & Reimbursement

Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to Erasmus+ distance rules:

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Germany โ€“ up to โ‚ฌ28 (โ‚ฌ56 for green travel)

๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท Tรผrkiye โ€“ up to โ‚ฌ395

Participants must keep all travel tickets and receipts. Refunds may not be issued for those who fail to attend project sessions.
