This is a communication and social media role inside an active youth work organisation, and you’ll be shaping how their projects and events reach the world.

🏢 About Jugendwerk der AWO

Jugendwerk der AWO Württemberg is a youth organisation running a wide range of projects for and with young people — from intercultural events and language exchange formats to summer camps, youth exchanges, and seminars. As an ESC volunteer, you’ll be embedded in a young, international team and actively contributing to both the communication and programmatic sides of their work.

🎯 The Role

The main focus is communication and social media — but the role extends into co-organising events, supporting youth work projects, and developing your own initiative based on your interests.

📋 What You’ll Do

📱 Help manage the Instagram account and create content for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

🎨 Design flyers and posters for events and projects

🎬 Film and edit videos and reels from events, summer camps, and youth exchanges

🌍 Support and co-organise intercultural events and language exchange formats for young people aged 16–27

💡 Contribute to developing new event ideas

🗂️ Support daily office and youth work tasks

📦 Help organise materials for camps and seminars

🚀 Develop your own project based on your interests

🎁 What Jugendwerk Provides

🏠 Free accommodation in a shared flat close to the workplace — your own furnished room, shared kitchen and bathroom with two flatmates

💶 €555 per full month in pocket money and food allowance (according to ESC rules)

🚌 Deutschlandticket — monthly public transport pass valid across all of Germany

🚲 Access to one of Jugendwerk’s bikes

🗣️ German language course depending on your level, supporting your integration and daily life

🧑‍🏫 Mentoring and guidance from the Jugendwerk coordinator and an additional external mentor

📚 Project-oriented learning across areas including public relations, fundraising, administration, education, and project management

👤 Who Should Apply

Jugendwerk is looking for a volunteer who:

📱 Has a passion for social media, communication, and youth work

🤝 Is motivated, open-minded, and reliable — enjoys working in an international team

💡 Is willing to take responsibility, work independently, and contribute their own ideas

🗣️ Has English skills — basic German is a bonus but not required

✅ No specific qualifications needed — motivation, curiosity, and interest in learning are what matter most
