A small mountain village in the Ligurian Alps. A swimmable river. One night at a mountain refuge at 2,000 metres altitude. And a week of non-formal education, outdoor learning, and direct contact with a rural community facing the realities of climate change. Mountains and Climate Change: Adapting for a Sustainable Future is an Erasmus+ youth exchange organised by Flow APS in Prea, Italy, bringing together young people from six European countries to explore sustainability, biodiversity, and mountain resilience together.

๐ŸŽฏ About the Project

The exchange takes place in Prea โ€” a small mountain village in the municipality of Roccaforte Mondovรฌ, in the Ligurian Alps near Cuneo. Through non-formal education, outdoor learning, and community engagement, participants will explore the impact of climate change on mountain and rural areas, discover sustainable practices, and co-create a public exhibition on climate change as a tangible project output.

The main venue is Casa Vacanze di Prea โ€” a three-floor venue with kitchen, dining area, rooms with bunk beds, and two large activity rooms. A swimmable river (Ellero) is within walking distance.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ A special highlight: one night at Rifugio Garelli in the Ligurian Alps at 2,000 metres altitude โ€” reached on foot with guides from the Marguareis Natural Park.

โš ๏ธ Prea is a very small village with only one small supermarket and one bar. Each national group should bring personal medication, specific food products, and essential items before arriving. The organisation will have a vehicle available for emergencies.

Green travel is strongly encouraged and aligns with the project’s values. Suggested routes: bus to Torino, Milano, or Savona and train to Mondovรฌ.

๐Ÿฅพ Open to outdoor activities and group life

๐Ÿ’ช Motivated to take part in the full programme

Group leaders: No age limit โ€” experienced in youth work and/or Erasmus+ projects, available for both the APV (14โ€“17 July) and the full exchange.

Priority is given to young people with fewer opportunities and newcomers to Erasmus+.
