🇧🇪 Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Belgium 🎨 Creactivate Yourself: Art, Creativity and Intercultural Expression 🌍

Are you an artist? Or have you always wanted to explore your creativity but never had the right space? Creactivate Yourself is an Erasmus+ youth exchange in Antwerp, Belgium — a city built around art, culture, and creative heritage — bringing together young people from Belgium, France, Spain, and Italy for a week that resembles an artistic residencymore than a typical exchange programme.

🎯 About the Project

Creactivate is a 6-day youth exchange focused on creativity, wellbeing, and intercultural exchange. It aims to make art accessible beyond social, financial, and educational barriers — offering a space where participants share their own artistic skills, collaborate on a collectively chosen creative project, and showcase their work at a one-time exhibition at a local gallery at the end of the week.

The exchange is organised by JOETZ (Belgium) and takes place at Het Bos — a cultural centre and recognised youth house in Antwerp with a concert hall, exhibition hall, theatre hall, and communal kitchen all under one roof.

📋 Programme Flow

🤝 Day 1 — Team building, getting to know each other, safe space creation

🎨 Day 2 — Sharing skills with the group

💡 Day 3 — Choosing a topic and forming work groups — getting started on the creation

🛠️ Day 5 — Turning ideas into practicalities

🎉 Day 6 & 7 — Evaluation and final public event at a local gallery

🏛️ The Venue

Het Bos — Ankerrui 5-7, 2000 Antwerp — a cultural centre on the edge of the historic city centre, towards the old docks and the hip district of ‘t Eilandje. Concert hall, exhibition hall, theatre hall, communal kitchen, and a bar all in one building.

🛏️ Participants sleep at A&O Hostel Antwerp (Pelikanstraat 2, 2000 Antwerp) — shared rooms of 4 people, 20 minutes from Het Bos

🔌 Adapter for Belgian outlets (Type E / 230V)

Some artistic materials will be provided — feel free to bring your own as well

✈️ Travel & Reimbursement

Transport to and from accommodation will be reimbursed. Green travel is strongly encouraged:

🌿 For 100% green travel (bus or train, no airplane), participants are entitled to 2 extra travel days

♻️ At minimum, public transport or car-pooling from home to the airport is encouraged

👤 Who Should Apply

Creactivate is for young people aged 18–30 (group leaders aged 25–30) who are:

🎨 Creative and motivated to develop or share artistic skills

🌍 Interested in contributing to exhibitions or workshops

🏘️ From remote areas or with fewer opportunities — especially encouraged

🤝 Open to collaboration, teamwork, and intercultural learning

💡 Curious about new creative methods and media

🗣️ Willing to engage in reflection and discussion on social and cultural topics

✅ Residents of Belgium, Spain, France, or Italy

Some experience in arts is recommended but not required.
