Are you ready to use your STEM expertise to create real social impact?
The Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship by the Swedish Institute supports exceptional women from Africa and Asia who aspire to lead innovation, advance gender equality, and build more sustainable societies through STEM-based education.
The programme funds one- or two-year masterβs degrees at Swedish universities offering English-taught programmes in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Through this initiative, Sweden champions diversity as a driver of innovation β empowering women to shape a sustainable and inclusive future.

Monthly allowance β SEK 12 000 to cover living expenses

β Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- BeΒ female citizensΒ of one of theΒ 10 eligible countriesΒ in Africa or Asia (list on SI website)
- Apply to anΒ eligible STEM-related masterβs programmeΒ in Sweden
- BeΒ liable to pay tuition feesΒ through University Admissions Sweden
- HaveΒ documented work and leadership experience
- Not hold a Swedish degree or have previously received an SI scholarship
- Meet the academic requirements of the chosen masterβs programme
