The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Toronto (U of T) offers fully funded graduate scholarships to outstanding students from Sub-Saharan Africa.

This prestigious program aims to empower young African leaders to advance public health, technology, and development within their home countries. Scholars will gain professional expertise, academic excellence, and practical experience to drive healthcare innovation and improve community well-being across Africa.

🎓 Areas of Study (2026–2027 Intake)

Applicants may choose one of the following Master’s programs:

Master of Engineering (Biomedical)
Master of Financial Insurance
MHSc Master of Health Administration
MHSc Master of Health Informatics
MPH: Health Promotion
MPH: Occupational and Environmental Health

✅ Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

Be citizens and residents of Sub-Saharan Africa
Have graduated (or be graduating) from a partner university of the Africa Health Collaborative
Be under 35 years old
Show academic excellence and leadership
Be admissible to one of the eligible graduate programs listed above
Demonstrate a strong commitment to return home and contribute to Africa’s sustainable development
