🌍 About the Scholarship
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Toronto (U of T) offers fully funded graduate scholarships to outstanding students from Sub-Saharan Africa.
This prestigious program aims to empower young African leaders to advance public health, technology, and development within their home countries. Scholars will gain professional expertise, academic excellence, and practical experience to drive healthcare innovation and improve community well-being across Africa.
🎓 Areas of Study (2026–2027 Intake)
Applicants may choose one of the following Master’s programs:
- Master of Engineering (Biomedical)
- Master of Financial Insurance
- MHSc Master of Health Administration
- MHSc Master of Health Informatics
- MPH: Health Promotion
- MPH: Occupational and Environmental Health
💰 Scholarship Coverage
✅ Full tuition and university fees
✅ Monthly stipend for living costs (approx. €20,000 value per academic year)
✅ Travel costs to Canada (including passport + visa fees)
✅ Housing, food, and health insurance
✅ Learning materials + equipment
✅ Academic and professional mentorship
✅ Alumni and networking opportunities through the Africa Health Collaborative
✅ Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be citizens and residents of Sub-Saharan Africa
- Have graduated (or be graduating) from a partner university of the Africa Health Collaborative
- Be under 35 years old
- Show academic excellence and leadership
- Be admissible to one of the eligible graduate programs listed above
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to return home and contribute to Africa’s sustainable development
