What Is WOWO About?
The Wise Online, Well Offline (WOWO) project was created to empower young people to navigate today's digital environment in an active, ethical and responsible way. It is a youth exchange about using the digital world in a safe, responsible and conscious way.
Participants work on:
๐ง Critical thinking online
๐ฒ Digital habits in everyday life
๐ฐ Misinformation
โ๏ธ Bias
๐ธ๏ธ Online manipulation
All of this happens through interactive activities. If this is your first exchange, our guide explains what an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange is and how groups from different countries learn together.
A Safe and Inclusive Learning Space
The organisers want to create a safe and inclusive learning space where young people can reflect on their own digital experiences, gain new competencies and translate awareness into meaningful action.
From Digital Consumers to Actors of Change
WOWO wants to support young people not only in learning how to critically consume digital content, but also in becoming actors of change who can contribute to a healthier, more inclusive and more democratic digital society.
The Project Objectives
๐ง Strengthen young people's critical thinking online
๐ค Promote responsible, ethical and inclusive digital behaviour
๐ป Explore how digital technologies affect our lives and participation in society
๐ Help young people recognise misinformation, bias and manipulation online
๐ Encourage intercultural dialogue and exchange between young people from different countries
Turning Awareness Into Practical Skills
The aim of WOWO is to turn awareness into practical skills that participants can use in their everyday online and offline lives. The project topics are Digital & Media and Mental Health & Wellbeing. For more on looking after yourself during a project, see our guide on mental health and wellbeing on an Erasmus+ project.
