4 International Organisation Jobs at the UN, ITC and OPCW

Posted 18 September 2026

Four senior and early-career roles at international organisations are open right now across three countries, closing between 21 and 24 September 2026. At Youth Works Hub, we pulled together this week's international organisation vacancies so you can see the full range in one place: a D-1 division chief writing HR policy for the entire UN common system, a P-5 senior legal officer leading the fight against terrorist financing, a P-2 associate programme officer bringing small-business realities into trade policy, and a P-3 information security officer protecting the systems of a Nobel Peace Prize-winning disarmament body. The span from P-2 to D-1 means this batch has something both for people with two years of experience and for those with fifteen.

Geographically, two roles sit in New York, one in Geneva and one in The Hague, the three cities that carry most of the multilateral system's workload. Thematically they could hardly be more different: human resources policy, counter-terrorism law, trade and investment, and cyber security. What they share is the profile of employer, UN common-system organisations and treaty bodies where the working language is English, contracts are professional-grade and the work shapes policy across dozens of countries. If you're weighing whether international experience is worth the effort, the evidence on how mobility affects career outcomes is a useful reality check before you invest hours in an application.

These are salaried professional posts, not internships or volunteering placements. Salary follows the UN common-system scale for the grade and duty station, with the OPCW role publishing roughly $8,728 per month; the other three do not publish a figure in the listing. All four require English, and each states its own minimum years of relevant experience, from two years at P-2 up to fifteen at D-1. Deadlines are tight and sequential: one closes 21 September, the next 22 September, then 23 and 24 September.

Four roles, three duty stations, four consecutive deadlines. If you are early in your career, the ITC post in Geneva is the entry point here: two years of experience is enough, and associate programme officer roles are one of the most common routes into the UN system for people in their late twenties. At the other end, the ICSC division chief post in New York is a genuine leadership appointment, setting the HR rules that dozens of UN organisations then apply to tens of thousands of staff. Between them sit the CTED legal post for international lawyers with a decade behind them, and the OPCW security post for practitioners who hold a GCIH, GCIA or SSCP certification.

Applications for these close fast, starting Monday 21 September and running through Thursday 24 September, so this is a week for finishing applications rather than starting them. Check the grade requirement before you write anything: UN system recruitment screens hard on minimum years of relevant experience, and applications that miss the threshold rarely advance. Youth Works Hub lists these roles as they open, with the employer, duty station, grade and deadline stated plainly so you can filter in seconds rather than reading four vacancy notices end to end. Pick the one that matches your grade, read the full notice, and apply before the window shuts.
