❗️What Is This Training About?
Professionals and volunteers from Germany, France and Ukraine share experiences, explore youth work challenges and develop new approaches, focusing on media education, mental health and international youth work to strengthen democracy and social cohesion.

ℹ️ Description About The Opportunity
Youth Work Today – Facing New Realities is an international youth worker exchange taking place in Leipzig, Germany, from 6–10 December 2026. It brings together professionals and volunteers active in youth work from Germany, France and Ukraine to reflect on current challenges faced by young people and youth work, exchange experiences and develop practical approaches for their daily practice.
The programme focuses on three main topics: media education, young people’s mental health and international youth work. Throughout the seminar, we will explore how these areas are changing the realities of youth work and how youth work can contribute to democratic values, dialogue and social cohesion.
The exchange is based on non-formal learning and peer exchange. Participants will contribute their own experiences and perspectives while also receiving input from external experts. The programme includes thematic workshops, participant-led sessions, language animation, networking opportunities and open evening formats.
We are looking for participants who:
- are 18 years or older;
- are actively involved in youth work, either as professionals or volunteers;
- live in Germany, France or Ukraine;
- are available for the entire programme;
- can communicate in English; approximately B2 level is recommended.
The project aims not only to provide new knowledge and methods, but also to create space for participants to compare youth work realities across countries, learn from each other and build professional connections that can continue beyond the seminar.
The project is organised by Satellites – Youth Mobility Projects e.V., supported by VILLA Leipzig, co-funded by Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and the Franco-German Youth Office (DFJW/OFAJ).

Satellites – Youth Mobility Projects e.V. is a non-profit organisation based in Leipzig, Germany, founded in 2023 by project coordinators, youth workers, volunteers and researchers. Its mission is to strengthen international youth work and make international mobility opportunities more accessible to people and places where such opportunities are still limited.
The organisation focuses in particular on developing the competences of youth workers in the field of international youth work and on implementing international exchange projects for young people with fewer opportunities, especially in Eastern Germany.

💶 Costs
Participation fee
There is no participation fee; selected participants are asked to pay a refundable deposit of €100, which they will receive back during or after the activity.
Accommodation and food
Accommodation is provided in single rooms at Premier Inn Leipzig City Opera, centrally located in Leipzig. Towels, bed linen and breakfast are included. Accommodation and meals provided within the official programme dates are also covered by the project. Please note that accommodation and food for additional days before or after the activity cannot be covered.
Travel reimbursement
Travel costs will be reimbursed according to the applicable Erasmus+ distance bands, up to the following maximum amounts:
10–99 km: €56 Green Travel / €28 Non-Green Travel
100–499 km: €285 Green Travel / €211 Non-Green Travel
500–1,999 km: €417 Green Travel / €309 Non-Green Travel
2,000–2,999 km: €535 Green Travel / €395 Non-Green Travel
The applicable distance band must be calculated using the official EU Distance Calculator. Participants are expected to travel in economy class / 2nd class and should not book their tickets before receiving confirmation of participation. Green Travel refers to journeys where low-emission means of transport such as train, bus, bicycle or car-pooling are used for the main part of the journey.
📜 Certificate
Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
