Description

Would you like to volunteer with people with disabilities? You will have the opportunity to learn a lot about social work and the promotion of inclusion of people with disabilities working in a centre that manages a residencial centre, little apparments, a daily centre, a social chicken coop!! We also have creative workshops (leather, sewing, mosaics, embroidery, ceramics, etc..) and pet therapy activities.


Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will share a flat with another ESC volunteer; the flat is right next to the organisation and it has 2 bedrooms so you will have a single room and will share the kitchen and bathroom. Once a day you will eat in the canteen of the centre and have some money to buy your own food that you can cook in the kitchen of the house. You will be given a bicycle to move freely in our city during your free time!!


Training during the activity

The volunteer will have the opportunity to learn how to deal with people with disabilities, how to work in a team, how to work in a social organistaion, he/she will be offered an italian course to improve/learn the language. He/she will have the opportunity to attend some specific trainings about multiculture, volunteering, etc. In the same project we have other volunteers from different countries so this will be a very international experience!

What we are looking for in a volunteer? - It’s preferable that the volunteer have a strong interest in people with disability; - It's preferable that the volunteer have flexibility and desire to get involved; - Some knowledge of the Italian language, or a strong will to learn it
