Do you want to join a campaigning association and take concrete action for greater social justice? For more than 40 years, Médecins du Monde has worked to care for the most vulnerable populations, to denounce barriers to healthcare access, and to bring about lasting change in health policy. In France and in nearly 30 countries, its work is built around six political struggles: sexual and reproductive rights and health, including the right to abortion; migration, exile, rights and health; harm reduction; environmental health; rights and the health system; and humanitarian spaces.
Médecins du Monde in Languedoc-Roussillon
The Languedoc-Roussillon delegation of Médecins du Monde is made up of 9 employees and around one hundred volunteers. Three programmes providing access to rights and healthcare are run by the volunteers and staff: the Rosela programme, the Santé Environnement (Environmental Health) programme, and the Centre d'Accueil de Soins et d'Orientation (CASO). A cross-cutting line of work around sexual and reproductive rights and health (SRHR), one of Médecins du Monde's core struggles, has been agreed by the actors who steer the delegation's direction. In the coming period, the priority objective is to help bring this direction to life by clarifying and operationalising it, including adding an abortion axis to develop precise and workable information across all projects on this issue.
Why They Need You
You will support the whole delegation team, both staff and volunteers, in continuing to implement a cross-cutting regional advocacy line around SRHR, with a particular focus on the question of voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVG). Building on the work begun in 2025 and 2026 on the mapping of actors in Montpellier, you will strengthen the delegation's knowledge of partners and services in the Hérault area on the SRHR theme and on the abortion services available. You will also support the CASO team in SRHR-related activities, including counselling interviews during drop-in sessions, access to abortion services in the area, and strengthening the participation and, where possible, the involvement of the people concerned.
Your Colleagues
You will be supervised by the regional coordinator and the CASO programme coordinator. You will work in a functional relationship with the delegation's SRHR steering group, which is made up of volunteers and staff, and in close collaboration with the delegation's teams.
