🔷 Activity Details

Description

The project will be promoted and developed by YUPI – Youth Union of People with Initiative, in Fafe, Portugal. The volunteer will join the YUPI team and support the organisation and coordination of international projects, including Youth Exchanges and ESC projects. The activities will combine logistics, event organisation and communication with sustainability and rural development. Some tasks are: preparing spaces, materials and schedules for events, supporting participants, creating social media content, as well as contributing to agroforestry, organic farming, caring for chickens, maintaining gardens and building with natural materials. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience, work as part of a team and contribute to sustainable and international projects.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will stay in a family house in Fornelos, Fafe, in an individual room with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Towels, bed sheets, blankets and Wi-Fi are provided. Meals will be provided during hosting activities, and a daily food allowance of €15 will be provided for the remaining days. Pocket money will be provided by the Hosting Organization as well as costs of travel, accommodation, food, local transportation and activities. The environmental way of travelling (train, bus, etc.) is strongly encouraged.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will receive support from a local mentor throughout the project. Portuguese language support will be provided through Portuguese lessons, helping the volunteer communicate and become more involved in the local community. The volunteer will also have access to YouthPass.
