Description
We welcome volunteer artists from EU countries, aged 18-30, in fields such as 🎶music, dance, 🎨painting, photography, 🏺pottery, weaving and 🧶traditional crafts. Our organization promotes these crafts in Roma communities and works with young people and adolescents. The volunteer program offers an opportunity to interact with a different culture - one where music and dance are the most captivating forms of entertainment, interaction and joy. Our goal is to build an intercultural bridge between Roma and non-Roma youth. We hope that this project will serve as a model of fruitful cooperation, inclusion and community responsibility.
We invite you to join us for a unique volunteering experience!
With our support, you will:
- Organize and conduct workshops for Roma teenagers on various topics: freedom of expression through art/crafts/personal development/ESC/Erasmus+ opportunities/health/environment/civic education/human rights.
- Learn and apply non-formal education methods.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The association will provide:
1. transportation money (from the volunteers’ countries to Iasi, Romania)
2. visa costs
3. accommodation with house expenses covered
4. pocket money
5. Money for food
Pocket Money: 120 eur/month
Food Allowance:160 eur/month
We provide accommodation in a fully quipped and furnished apartment. Rent and utilities (gas, electricity) will be paid by the hosting NGO.
Training during the activity
The volunteers will receive orientation and support throughout the process and for the activities as well as a mentor, a coordinator and Romanian classes.
Participant profile
- Important: artistic/creative skills: music and dance, pottery, crafts - weaving, knitting, painting; technical skills - IT, willing to carry out outdoor activities in rural community development.
- are young people between 18 and 30 years old;
- have a real desire to spend almost a year in romani;
- have good social and communications skills;
- are flexible, willing to learn and help the others;
- are able to take initiatives and propose their ideas;
- are open-minded and enthusiastic;
