The Global Awards Management Unit is a global unit with teams in New York, Washington DC, London, Nairobi, Berlin, Stockholm and Amman, with staff presence in many other locations around the world. Its mission is to lead the IRC's work to engage and influence government donors, secure funding, and enable compliant and effective programme delivery for its clients.

The Global Business Development Team, within which this role sits, leads the IRC's public business development strategy for the organisation's international work. The team raises the funds to deliver to those in greatest need, striving to increase the scale and quality of funding to ensure the effectiveness of the IRC's work.

๐Ÿ’ถ Job Overview

The Donor Engagement Intern is part of the Donor Engagement Europe Team, which is responsible for relationship management of the IRC's key institutional donors. Under the line management of the Senior Advisor Donor Engagement with INTPA and DG MENA, and in close coordination with the Donor Engagement Officer for DG ECHO, the intern supports the IRC's funding-focused engagement mainly with DG INTPA, DG MENA and DG ECHO, collaborating closely with other teams which lead on policy, advocacy and technical engagement. The intern supports the development and implementation of strategies for maintaining and developing proactive and positive relationships with those donors, in support of the delivery of the IRC's organisational strategy, and is also expected to support the team on ad hoc requests and admin support.

Related to DG INTPA, DG MENA, DG ENEST, FPI and DG ECHO:

๐Ÿ” Undertake research, notably on data, and preparation of background analyses

๐Ÿ“‹ Support the preparation of briefings for discussions with institutional donors

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Support the implementation of donor strategies through preparation of meetings and working groups

๐Ÿ—’๏ธ Participate in relevant donor meetings, together with the Senior Advisor and Officer, and take minutes

๐ŸŽช Support the preparation of external events with EU donors, such as the European Humanitarian Forum 2027, through preparation of internal meetings, communication and logistics, drafting of briefings and information notes
