Do you want to work at the intersection of European policy, public affairs and citizen engagement, from the heart of Brussels? Stand Up for Europe is looking for an ambitious, creative Public Affairs and Communications intern to help strengthen European democracy.

About Stand Up for Europe

Stand Up for Europe is a movement of citizens reclaiming their hope in a better future through a more democratic and federal Europe, closer to the people and better able to tackle global challenges. This is not a typical internship: you will work at the intersection of European policy, public affairs, communications and citizen engagement, contributing directly to initiatives that strengthen European democracy at a time when it faces unprecedented challenges.

What You'll Do

๐Ÿ”Ž Monitor EU political and policy developments related to democracy, citizen participation and European affairs.

๐Ÿ“‘ Assist with EU-funded projects, policy research, reports, project proposals and impact assessments.

๐ŸŽช Support the preparation and organisation of high-level events involving EU institutions, Members of the European Parliament, Commissioners, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Create engaging content for social media and communication campaigns, and write articles, opinion pieces and communication materials.

๐ŸŒ Help expand and coordinate the European network of partners and local branches, and contribute ideas for new campaigns, projects and initiatives.

๐Ÿ“š Also open in ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช Belgium: Internship in ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช Belgium โ€“ Digital Humanities Intern at an Academic Publisher โ†’ https://youthworkshub.org/19824

What Makes It Different

๐Ÿ›๏ธ You will work in the heart of the European Quarter in Brussels, obtain accreditation to the European Parliament and participate in activities across the EU institutions, organise and attend events featuring MEPs, European Commissioners, senior EU officials, academics and civil society leaders, and build an exceptional professional network. You will take ownership of projects rather than performing routine administrative tasks, develop practical experience in both public affairs and strategic communications, bring your own ideas to life, and work in an international, multicultural and highly motivated team.

Who We're Looking For

๐ŸŽ“ Students or recent graduates with a background in Political Science, European Studies, International Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs or a related field, who are curious, proactive and eager to contribute.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ A genuine interest in European affairs, democracy and public policy, excellent written and spoken English (minimum C1), strong research and writing skills, and strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Experience creating digital content or managing social media is a plus, as is familiarity with Canva, CapCut or similar editing tools (video editing experience is a strong advantage). Knowledge of French or another EU language is considered an asset.

โœ’๏ธ Same field, different country: Internship in ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท France โ€“ Editorial and Social Media at a Magazine โ†’ https://youthworkshub.org/19102
