Would you like to gain practical experience organising international volunteering projects while living and working on Gran Canaria? The Route 66 Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator and Project Support intern to support its international Eco-Resilience programmes.

About the Route 66 Foundation

The Route 66 Foundation offers Erasmus+ internship placements for students interested in environmental projects, sustainability, nature-based learning, community work and communication for social and ecological impact. Its internships take place within hands-on eco-projects focused on improving biodiversity, maintaining and restoring natural areas, clean-up actions, creative upcycling and practical sustainability initiatives. Located in the mountains of Gran Canaria, the learning environment is strongly nature-based and experiential, with learning happening through doing, observing, reflecting and working together in small international teams. The Foundation collaborates with European partners, local municipalities and educational networks to provide supervised, learning-oriented Erasmus+ internships.

The Role

During this internship, you support both the organisational and practical side of the 28-day international volunteer programmes. Working alongside the team, you help coordinate volunteers and participants, support daily operations, and contribute to creating a welcoming, well-organised and inspiring learning environment. Between volunteer groups, you help evaluate the previous programme, prepare accommodation and materials, and organise the arrival of the next group.
