Do you love art, history and cultural heritage? The Diocesan and Codex Museum in Rossano, Calabria, home to one of the world's most precious manuscripts, is looking for a Museum Assistant intern to help welcome visitors and bring its collections to life.

About the Museum

Opened in 1952, this was the first Diocesan Museum established in Calabria, and today it is organized around two main sections, one dedicated to the "Codex Purpureus Rossanensis" and the other to a sacred art collection, both enriched with multimedia devices such as touch screens, virtual page-flips and QR codes. The museum is famous for guarding the Codex Purpureus Rossanensis, recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage and inscribed in the "Memory of the World" list in 2015. It is a sixth-century evangeliary of 376 pages of finely purple parchment, written in uncial Greek with golden and silver inks and enriched by 15 miniatures, and is considered the most precious illuminated evangeliary in the world. The collection also includes works from the Magna Graecia era to the 20th century.

๐Ÿฐ The museum is located in Rossano, the "Byzantine Pearl" of Calabria, a city whose monuments recall a glorious past at the crossroads between East and West, and which attracts tourists thanks to its sea and nearby nature reserves such as the Parco Nazionale del Pollino and the Parco Nazionale della Sila.
