Do you want to help build a first-of-its-kind AI platform that runs a real climate technology fund? The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is offering a CTAF AI Secretariat Coding Internship at its headquarters in Seoul, supporting the development of an AI-based platform for the Climate Technology Accelerator Fund.

About GGGI and CTAF

GGGI is a treaty based international, inter governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. The Center for Thought Leadership and Innovation (CTLI) unit leads GGGI's work on climate policy analysis and evidence-based impact assessment. To support its growing global program portfolio, CTLI seeks a motivated and detail-oriented intern to assist in evaluating the effectiveness of climate policies. The internship will contribute to CTLI's efforts to improve the quality and availability of data on climate innovative technology demonstration and impacts, inform national climate actions, and enhance knowledge sharing across countries and institutions.

The Climate Technology Accelerator Fund (CTAF) is a new initiative that supports the acceleration of climate technology development, deployment and partnership-building. CTAF aims to help identify, shape and showcase practical climate technology solutions for GGGI member countries through strategic coordination, knowledge products and global engagement, moving promising technologies from proposal to real-world deployment. The intern for CTAF will support GGGI's contribution to enhancing the innovative climate technology platform by improving the comprehensiveness, consistency and usefulness of the underlying data.

The Role

The GGGI CTAF Secretariat is developing the "GGGI CTAF AI Secretariat," an AI technology-based online platform, to support the efficient operation of the CTAF fund launched this year, as well as the effective management of project proposals and implementation processes across GGGI member countries. This role sits at the center of that effort: the intern will actively support the coding-based development of the CTAF AI Secretariat platform, gaining direct exposure to how a real climate technology fund is run and helping build the digital backbone that lets CTAF identify and showcase climate solutions more efficiently across member countries. The selected candidate will gain an in-depth understanding of the overall operation of CTAF projects from CTAF supervisors and will work with supervisors and external experts to build a platform supporting efficient management of the full project cycle, from intake to implementation tracking.

What You'll Do

๐Ÿงญ Develop an in-depth understanding of the overall CTAF project cycle with support from the supervisor.

โš™๏ธ Support the improvement of operational efficiency for CTAF project proposals, participating institutions, project outputs and implementation processes.

๐Ÿ—„๏ธ Support database development and platform integration of CTAF project outputs and related information.

๐Ÿค– Build and integrate AI-powered features using no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Retool, Bubble or similar) connected to LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini).

๐Ÿ’ป Support basic coding, structuring and integration, including light Python scripting where custom logic or data pipelines are needed, for the overall operational platform.

๐Ÿงช Support testing, documentation and demonstration of platform functions and work results, and undertake other tasks assigned by the supervisor or CTAF Secretariat.

Who Can Apply

๐ŸŽ“ Be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's degree programme or in a Master's degree programme prior to the internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months, engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute's work.

Applicants from other academic backgrounds may also be considered if they demonstrate exceptional understanding and experience in programming and AI-based development.

๐Ÿค– Ability to build and integrate applications using no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Retool, Bubble or similar) and to connect them to LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini), working knowledge of Python or another relevant language for custom logic, data handling or automation tasks not covered by no-code tools, strong working ability with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for data analysis, report writing and workflow support, and a practical understanding of AI-based programming and platform integration.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Basic ability to write and understand English, a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to work, and the ability to work effectively with supervisors and external experts, along with the ability to present and demonstrate relevant work results or portfolios. Applicants with relevant experience are encouraged to submit a portfolio of previous work, clearly indicating their specific role where the work was conducted as part of a team. Preferred qualifications include experience or capability in responding to data security-related issues and previous experience in similar work with the ability to deliver results within a short timeframe.

What You'll Gain

๐ŸŒฑ Direct mentorship from Youngki Yoon, CTAF Head, working in close collaboration with the wider CTAF Secretariat team.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Hands-on exposure to a live, donor-funded initiative (Korea MSIT), from proposal intake through project implementation across GGGI member countries.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ The opportunity to help design and build a first-of-its-kind AI-enabled operations platform at an international organization, with real ownership over discrete deliverables.

๐Ÿ“œ A certificate of completion and letter of reference upon successful completion of the internship, with possible extension of up to an additional 3 months based on performance and CTAF's operational needs.

The Details
