Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and strategic communication? The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Qatar programme is seeking a Communication Intern to support its communication efforts and gain hands on experience within an international organization.

About GGGI

GGGI is a treaty based international, inter governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. The intern works under the dual supervision of the Communications and Advocacy Coordinator and the Program Lead, developing strategic communication skills and gaining insight into the operational aspects of GGGI.

What You'll Do

๐Ÿ“ฃ Work closely with the Communications and Advocacy Coordinator in the day to day communications activities of the Qatar Program, and participate in the strategic planning and execution of campaigns.

๐ŸŒ Support the implementation of a climate change and sustainability awareness campaign, contributing to impactful messaging and public engagement.

๐ŸŽจ Create infographics and visual content for online and print collaterals.

โœ๏ธ Engage in content writing and drafting of press releases, articles, blog posts, social media content and reports.

๐Ÿ“ข Support the dissemination of information on project progress through compelling messaging and visualization across platforms.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Provide translation services covering English and Arabic.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Help improve GGGI's branding and support the regular updating of GGGI Qatar's social media accounts and webpage.

๐Ÿ“ Assist in reviewing, editing and proofreading GGGI knowledge products and materials, stay abreast of relevant research and news, and support GGGI MENA regional communication.

Who Can Apply

๐ŸŽ“ Be enrolled in a Bachelor's (final year), Master's or PhD programme prior to the internship, or be a recent graduate within the last 12 months, in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Environmental Studies or a related field.

๐Ÿ›‚ Possess the legal right to work in Qatar. For international applicants, a valid visa permitting work or internship in Qatar is required.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic or other regional languages is highly advantageous, as the role involves translation tasks.

Strong writing and drafting ability, creativity and storytelling, proficiency in digital communication tools and social media management, and skills in graphic design and infographics are valued. A strong interest in environmental issues, sustainable development and green growth is important; prior communications experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

The Details

๐Ÿ“ Location: Doha, Qatar.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Duration: at least four months and up to six months, beginning prior to or within 12 months of graduation.

๐Ÿ’ถ Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD 500 (unless funded by sponsoring institutions). Travel, insurance, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or sponsor. GGGI provides a supporting letter for the visa; interns obtain and finance their own visa, travel and medical insurance. A certificate is provided upon successful completion, and academic credit may be available.
