🔷 Activity Details
Description
Join a volunteering team in Latvia and spend an active summer supporting youth and community events! Together with Laiks Jauniešiem, you will take part in activities in Bauska and other places in Latvia — helping with youth spaces, creative workshops, intercultural activities, community events, Family Day festival and solidarity-themed public events. Through our cooperation with a local football team, volunteers will also have the opportunity to join match-day activities, support the team and experience how volunteering works in the local community. You will support the preparation of activity zones, welcome participants, assist in workshops, help with simple logistics and bring your own culture, ideas and energy into the programme. This project is for young people who want to learn by doing, work in an international team, meet local youth and experience how solidarity can look in real life. No need to be an expert — curiosity, openness and willingness to help are enough!
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will live in a shared apartment in Bauska with all necessary facilities for a comfortable stay, including a kitchen, bathroom, Wi-Fi and basic household equipment. Lunch will be provided during working days. In the apartment, volunteers will have the necessary food products for breakfast, dinner and snacks. For project-related local transport, the organisation will provide the required bus tickets. Info pack with all of the details: https://canva.link/ydi5dlpi5gsrx03
Training during the activity
Volunteers will receive an introduction to the organisation, their tasks, safety rules, guidelines working with children and youngsters, respectful communication and teamwork. They will be supported by the project team and a mentor throughout the activity. Regular team meetings and reflection sessions will help volunteers plan their work, solve challenges, follow their learning process and prepare their Youthpass.
Participant profile
We are looking for young people aged 18–30 who are open, motivated and ready to be part of an international volunteering team in Latvia. No special experience is required, but participants should be interested in youth work, community events, intercultural learning, creative activities and helping others. We welcome volunteers who enjoy teamwork, are flexible, responsible and willing to learn by doing. The project is also open to young people with fewer opportunities, with individual support available if needed.
