🔷 Activity Details
Description
The Cooperative La Comunità is a social enterprise active in Genoa since 1979 in the field of educational activities to combat and prevent minors’ distress and sustain fragile families through the design and management of socio-educational, animation, and cultural services. La Comunità provides daily educational centers: CED is a semi-residential service offering daily hospitality for minors living in high-risk contexts and social-educational centers: CSE that provide educational activities and tools to manage temporary crises within families. The volunteers will be part of the staff in these centers. Activities: - Support to educators in assistance in daily commitments (picking up children from school; help with homework and study support; recreational and creative activities; sports, outdoor activities in the local area); - Looking after the common spaces and meal sharing; - Activities with families.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will live in Genova in a shared apartment with double/triple rooms. 6 euros per day of pocket money and food or a food allowance will be provided. The travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will participate in the training opportunities offered by the Italian National Agency (On Arrival Training, Mid Term Evaluation, and Final Evaluation). In addition, they will also take part in the training opportunities organized by association P.E.CO., together with the other volunteers involved in the activities of other Hosting Organizations in Genoa. They will also receive specific training in the Hosting Organization related to the target group they will work with.
Participant profile
AGE 20-30 Years old. Available for the WHOLE duration of the project (min 6 months). The ideal volunteer is autonomous, mature and responsible, open to sharing and meeting other people, and, above all, motivated to join our activities. Must be able to assist with the educative and training process of La Comunità. Since it requires a delicate role in contact with young people that often come from complex family situations, the volunteer should possess such qualities as high tolerance, patience, firmness, creativity, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
