Description

The Europe House in Nîmes would like to host 1 volunteers for a project of 11 months in Nîmes, a south-east city of France, close to the seaside. The volunteer will participate to the activities of a training centre, Purple Campus. His/her tasks will be divided between two campuses, a business school, EGC, in Nîmes and an apprenticeship centre in Marguerittes, a village close to Nîmes. The objective of the project is to facilitate the intercultural exchange between the volunteers, the students and the apprentices. Actors of the educational service, his/her activities will be to create and animate workshops for young people using non-formal learning methods. Most of the activities of the volunteer will be in relation with European languages, non-formal learning and information about Europe and current affairs. The volunteer will also prepare and coach students that do European mobilities (Erasmus+) and will participate in debats and different events organized by Purple Campus ...

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance for his food but can also eat at training restaurant of the school. The volunteer will be hosted in a shared flat (with other volunteers) in the center of Nîmes. The volunteer will take the bus to go to the schools in Nîmes and in Marguerittes or will be collected by the tutors in Nîmes. He/she will receive a monthly public transport ticket. The volunteer will receive 8€/day for pocket money and 9€/day for food. TRAVEL GRANT: according to the distance.


Training during the activity

The volunteer will have the opportunity to participate in an arrival seminar and a mid-term seminar organised by the Erasmus+ Agency. In addition, throughout their mission the volunteer will receive training in non-formal education. The volunteer will have the opportunity to receive training in non-formal education from the team.

Participant profile

-Candidates should have basic knowledge in French to understand and be understood and knowledge in English.

-The ability to speak Spanish would be an added value.

-Their motivation, their capacity to bring enthusiasm during their intervention, especially for the youngsters, and their understanding of the pedagogy and the contact will be important criteria.

-They will have to be flexible, mobile and to be able to adapt to every specific situation and every type of audience.
