๐Ÿ”ท Activity Details

Description

We invite you to embark on this community experience to work with us to prepare a bio-diverse garden to increase the self-sufficiency of our Gut Herzershof community. Experience what it means to get into deep contact with nature โ€“ within and around us โ€“ co-creating with the web of life a place where we can feel nurtured and fulfilled. Doing this we come back to the center of what it means to be alive, being who we truly are. Respect for each other and every form of life is the core of this state. Learning to act from this place is what we aim to do while working. Recovering work as a practice which connects us instead of alienating us from ourselves and the world we belong to. The experience will include reflection, learning, co-creating, cultivating dialogue, immersing into awareness, acquiring skills while practically experiencing them during constructing, gardening, cooking, creating art and sharing our environmental protection ideas and concepts.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The activity will take place in the rural area. The accommodation will be on the premises of the host. The accommodation will be in shared rooms and shared bathrooms and toilets. Here you can find some pictures of Herzershof: https://www.gruppenhaus.de/gut-herzershof-kuestriner-vorland-herzersh-hs12506.html Special needs can be respected. The volunteers will prepare their meals together. It is possible to visit surrounding towns, including Berlin, however the public transportation is limited and arrangements needs to be made beforehand.

Training during the activity

There will be an introduction training at the beginning of the activity that will include team building, introduction to the tasks as well as introduction to measures regarding the safety and security. Further the group will be guided to implement the practical activities, through which they will learn and develop different skills.

Participant profile

We are looking for inspired, open-minded, curious, and motivated individuals who want to contribute to a vibrant collective experienceโ€”aligned with the values of sustainability, solidarity, and mutual respect. We are looking for volunteers that are willing to work in a team, interested to learn about gardening, sustainability, agriculture and food preservation. At the same time you need to be willing to live in a community in the rural area and have an hands-on experience with building, agriculture and arts . English language knowledge on a basic level is necessary. Volunteers should be interested to get some new skills and be very flexible and motivated to implement the planned activities.
