๐Ÿ”ท Activity Details

Description

Hosting organisation offers volunteering opportunities in youth work, social media, project management, and the daily operation of a scout centre. Volunteers will support non-formal educational activities for children and young people, create digital content, assist in organising local and international events, and contribute to the promotion of volunteering and intercultural learning. In addition to their main role, all volunteers will participate in rotational tasks such as reception support, housekeeping, gardening, kitchen assistance, and general maintenance of the centre. The project follows a learning-by-doing approach, encouraging initiative, creativity, teamwork, and personal development. Most activities take place in Rustavi; however, some programmes, events, and projects may be organised in different locations. Volunteers should therefore be flexible and willing to occasionally travel. Project infopack: https://shorturl.at/vuAyB

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation, food allowance, pocket money, and health insurance are provided in accordance with the European Solidarity Corps programme regulations. Volunteers will be accommodated in shared apartments located in the city centre of Rustavi. Each volunteer will have an individual bedroom while sharing common spaces such as the kitchen and bathroom with other volunteers. The apartments provide all essential furniture and household appliances necessary for comfortable daily living. Apartment is located 25 minitues walkable distance away from the scout center so no transportation is needed.

Training during the activity

Volunteers participating in activities lasting longer than six months will take part in the European Solidarity Corps training cycle, including On Arrival Training and Mid-Term Evaluation organised by the SALTO Easter Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre. Within the hosting organisation, volunteers will receive ongoing support, guidance, and informal training tailored to their roles and responsibilities. The project follows a learning-by-doing methodology, meaning that volunteers are encouraged to develop their competences through practical experience, mentorship, reflection, participation.

Participant profile

We are looking for motivated, open-minded, and proactive volunteers who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow in an international environment. The ideal volunteer is flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with occasional changes in plans. They should have a positive "can-do" attitude, be willing to step outside their comfort zone, take initiative, and learn through experience. We value people who enjoy self-learning, teamwork, intercultural exchange, and are open to supporting different tasks when needed. Previous experience in volunteering, youth work, social media, event management, or working with children and young people is an advantage but not required. Motivation, responsibility, and willingness to learn are the most important qualities. ! Conversational English language proficiency is must.
