🔷 Activity Details

Description

The project empowers disadvantaged girls and women in slum community by providing training in sewing, tailoring, brand building, and financial literacy, equipping them with income-generating skills. As a volunteer, you will support and engage in the following activities:

1) Empowering young people by teaching fashion design and knitting skills,

3) Marketing youth center products locally and internationally,

4) Organizing exhibitions and exposure tours/visits,

5) Providing basic financial literacy training,

6) Developing a quality control system,

7) Strengthening relationships with existing partners and identifying new partnership opportunities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation will be provided in a shared apartment with other volunteers, each having a private, lockable bedroom, located in the suburbs of Kampala. The volunteer will receive monthly allowance that will cover food, communication costs, and local transportation. The volunteer will travel daily to the project site. Public transport mainly consists of commuter taxis (Matatus), while shorter distances are typically covered using motorbikes known as Boda Bodas.
