Description
ActionAid Spain and LOGS are looking for a team of young people to improve the assistance of Ukrainian refugees from a gender perspective, join us at the headquarters of LOGS in Timisoara! You will have the opportunity to work in an international team and participate in activities like Art Therapy for Refugee Children, leading creative sessions, offering language support, and organizing group games. One Winter Camp will take place in a mountain resort, where you will help with therapeutic activities and others like nature walks and arts and crafts for kids. Volunteers will also assist with the Timișoara Refugee Art Festival (TRAF), helping with event logistics and community outreach. Other tasks include supporting food distribution and environmental projects at Casa LOGS de la Țară. If you are migrant, refugee, if you live in rural areas, if you have limited economic support or any other context don´t hesitate to sign up, this opportunity is for everyone!
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be accommodated in a comfortable apartment, with one or two people per room and shared bathrooms. The apartment is 30 minutes walking distance from Casa LOGS and close to public transport. It is fully furnished, with a kitchen area for meal preparation, and volunteers will receive public transport subscriptions. Activities will take place at Casa LOGS, Țebea Street, Timișoara.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will be part of an exciting training experience that covers essential topics like safety, teamwork, and administrative skills. However, the core of the training focuses on feminist principles and gender equality which will happen in the pre-departure training in Madrid with ActionAid. Once in Timisoara there will be an on-arrival training to get to know Timisoara, the work, the schedules, the rights and obligations and the team. Additional trainings will be provided on soft skills needed to implement the planned activities.
Participant profile
We’re looking for volunteers who are passionate about gender equality and feminism, and who want to make a real impact. If you’re a great communicator, open to new ideas, and enjoy working with others, we’d love to have you on board. Being proactive and eager to learn is important, and if you have experience in leading activities, even better!
