โน๏ธ Description About The Opportunity
We believe that creativity is the most powerful tool for social transformation. Art It Up! is a training course designed for youth workers and activists who want to bridge the gap between artistic expression and Human Rights Advocacy.
How can we turn a canvas into a claim? Or a performance into a political statement? This project is about moving beyond traditional participation. We will explore how to use visual arts, street art, and creative methodologies to amplify the voices of young people and advocate for human rights in our local and European communities.
Join us to learn how to frame messages that matter and design advocacy campaigns that inspire.
Aim:
We aim to empower 25 young artists, activists, and youth leaders with the skills to utilize art as a tool for effective political engagement, addressing contemporary local and global threats to human rights that particularly impact young people.
Objectives:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of concepts such as peace, various forms of violence, human rights, and conflict transformation, providing a conceptual framework for artistic expression.
- Explore the concept of meaningful political participation and the role of art in shaping and reinforcing societal narratives respectful of Human Rights.
- Empower participants to become catalysts for change in collective perceptions by creating emotionally resonant artistic works.
- Develop proficiency in non-violent communication and nonverbal discourse analysis to enhance participantsโ ability to communicate effectively through various mediums.
- Conduct a mapping and analysis of participantsโ local realities, forming thematic working groups to address the most pressing social issues through artistic expression.
- Facilitate the design process for at least six follow-up activities to sustain the impact and momentum of the program beyond its initial implementation.
