The quality of youth work in Europe depends on the quality of the conversations youth workers have with young people. Coaching and mentoring are things many youth workers already do by instinct, usually with goodwill, rarely with structure, and almost never with training. The Erasmus+ Training Course "Coaching and Mentoring Academy 1.0" was designed to close exactly that gap. Over six days in Vienna, 30 youth workers from 10 European countries build practical, structured competences in coaching and mentoring, and leave with a full toolkit they can use the week they get home.

What Makes This Course Different

This is not a course where you sit through theory. You will test every coaching and mentoring tool on yourself first, then design, facilitate and run your own sessions with real feedback from the group of 30 youth workers. The whole week is built on experiential learning and hands-on practice, not lectures.

What You Will Work On

๐Ÿง  Core coaching and mentoring models, including GROW, OSCAR and solution-focused coaching

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Non-violent communication and deep listening, so you can guide a young person through a real conversation rather than just delivering content to them

๐Ÿ”„ The 4Fs debriefing method and structured reflection tools

๐ŸŽฏ Goal setting, contracting a mentoring relationship, and knowing what to do when a mentoring relationship stalls

๐Ÿค Designing, facilitating and testing your own coaching sessions, with peer feedback from youth workers across 10 countries

Travel is reimbursed up to a fixed ceiling per country, against your original tickets, and only international travel is reimbursed. You book your own transport to and from Vienna, and the eligible costs are refunded after you have delivered your local follow-up session and submitted all original travel documents. Book nothing before your travel plan is approved in writing.
