This in-depth guide breaks down everything: the different types of mobility, funding opportunities, eligibility criteria, and what you can realistically expect from participating. If you've ever wondered whether Erasmus+ is right for you, this guide gives you all the answers in one place. 👉 https://youthworkshub.org/15096/

❗️What Is This Training About?

Supporting youth workers with methods to create safe spaces, cultivate hope, and encourage meaningful participation in times of social and environmental uncertainty.

🏘️ How Erasmus+ youth projects create lasting change in local communities. The impact of Erasmus+ goes far beyond the individuals who participate. Local communities, host organisations, and even entire neighbourhoods are shaped by the projects that take place within them. This article explores the broader social impact of Erasmus+ youth exchanges — from building intercultural understanding to empowering grassroots organisations — and makes a compelling case for why these projects matter beyond the personal level. 👉 https://youthworkshub.org/3595/

ℹ️ Description About The Opportunity

A 6-day training program bringing together active youth workers in a shared learning experience. The project supports professionals in understanding how young people navigate eco-emotions and uncertainty. It strengthens both personal and collective resilience through nature connection and by exploring how communities can nurture well-being and mutual empowerment.

It also equips youth workers with practical tools, methodologies, and approaches they can bring back to their own groups and local communities, extending the impact beyond the training itself.

AIMS

To explore how to empower young people to face socio-ecological challenges with awareness and resilience, and to cultivate hope for a brighter future through critical thinking, self-empowerment and meaningful community experiences.

To support youth professionals in helping young people develop the confidence to question assumptions, critically reflect on their personal values and shape their own informed responses to the challenges of today.

To gain a deeper understanding of how natural systems adapt and regenerate. Observe and learn by being in nature and translate these lessons into human life and social resilience.

To acquire simple, practical tools to deal with stress, regulate emotions and increase the level of eco-emotional intelligence.

To learn how to facilitate a safe space to engage in honest conversations and to explore our emotions to understand what they reveal about ourselves and the complex world we all live in.

To enhance both personal and collective resilience by bringing together nature-connection, body-based practices, and real-life experiences with communities.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE

The learning experience includes a six-day residential event held at the Szatyor Community House in Etyek, Hungary.

The residential training, taking place from 7-12 September 2026 (6th and 13th are the traveling days), will guide you through a journey to understand your emotions about ecological changes, find your connections for grounding and regulating, and plan your actions among your communities for better resilience. You'll be introduced to approaches such as meaningful nature connection practices, self-awareness activities, diverse community building and community care practices, and how to initiate these practices in your work and personal life.

The training is organised and hosted by Szatyor Association in Hungary. It is funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

FACILITATORS

The training is facilitated by eco-trainers with wide experience in ecoliteracy, non-formal education, and mental health-related approaches.

Giulia Tagini- Global citizenship educator at Humana People to People, Italy

Kriszta Vásárhelyi - clinical psychologist and nature connection expert at Szatyor Association, Hungary

PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS

For this educational program, we invite youth workers who want to develop their competencies in supporting emotional resilience among young people. We also encourage “young youth workers” with less experience who can benefit from this training and wish to bring back best practices to their communities.

This educational process is for you if:

  • you are motivated to understand eco-anxiety and emotional regulation related to the changing world we are living in
  • you have experience or knowledge related to eco-emotions
  • you are interested in developing your nature connection and facilitation skills
  • you want to understand how communities function and what their role could be in enhancing resilience.
  • you are motivated and available to take an active part in the entire 6-day program
  • your current residency is in the EU.

VENUE

The residential parts of this educational program will take place in Etyek. It is a village situated 30 km west of Budapest.

We will host the event at the Szatyor Association Community House, which offers simple but comfortable living spaces, several bathrooms, a shared kitchen (both indoor and outdoor), and a common living area.

Participants will be accommodated in rooms with 3–4 beds. The house also has a surrounding garden, which we will use for some of the activities.

FOOD

We aim to make the most ecological choices in our food. We use seasonal, organic ingredients sourced from local farmers. Our basic approach is plant-based (vegan) meals, with some vegetarian options if necessary..
