A vocational high school in France, students from rural and less privileged socio-economic backgrounds, and a European volunteer whose very presence opens up something new. This ESC placement is about making Europe tangible for young people who might otherwise never feel it is meant for them.
Association du LEP Joseph Roussel, coordinated by Maison de l'Europe Le Mans โ Sarthe, is welcoming an ESC volunteer into their high school community. The objective is clear: help students develop openness to others, to Europe, and to the world โ by living and working alongside someone who has already made that leap.
What Is This Role About?
The volunteer immerses themselves in French culture while making students aware of European citizenship and the idea of mobility. The high school's educational project is built around opening young people to the professional, cultural, economic, and local world โ and the ESC volunteer is a concrete, human embodiment of that ambition. For many students from rural or less privileged backgrounds, Europe can feel abstract or distant. The volunteer changes that.
