One of Vienna’s most respected contemporary art galleries. Exhibition preparations, press communications, social media, graphic design, and archive management — all under one roof in the heart of the Austrian capital. Galerie nächst St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzwälder is looking for a motivated intern to join their team for a few months and experience the full breadth of what running a contemporary art gallery actually involves.

Galerie nächst St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzwälder is a leading contemporary art gallery in Vienna with a long and distinguished history. The team works across exhibitions, artist relations, communications, and archive management — and this internship offers genuine access to all of it.
📋 Your Responsibilities
🎨 Assist with exhibition preparation and openings
🏛️ Oversee gallery spaces during operations
📱 Contribute to social media management and content
🖌️ Support graphic design tasks
📰 Assist with press communications
🗂️ Support logistical coordination and general administrative tasks
💾 Work with digital and physical archives — maintaining databases, managing image and artist archives
📦 Support storage and office organisation
✅ Your Profile
🎓 Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant field of study — art, design, communications, or related
🔍 Reliable, detail-oriented, and well-organised — able to work independently
🎨 Strong interest in contemporary art
🗣️ Good level of German (B1) and English (C1) — both written and spoken
💻 Confident in MS Office — familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
🖌️ Basic knowledge of graphic design
📅 Duration and Commitment
⏱️ 3–4 days per week, 4 months
