๐ European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Opportunity
The Umbรบntu Social Project in Alvorada, Porto Alegre (Brazil) invites international volunteers to join a humanitarian aid initiative supporting local communities through cultural activities, environmental practices and social inclusion.
This ESC project is part of the Humanitarian Aid volunteering programme, offering young people the chance to contribute to community development while gaining hands-on experience in intercultural learning and sustainability.
Volunteers will participate in activities organized by the Umbรบntu community and cultural space, located in a disadvantaged district of Alvorada. The project focuses on education, community engagement, environmental awareness and creative cultural expression.
Participants will help run workshops and community activities while learning about sustainable living and green alternatives.

๐ญ Supporting cultural workshops such as capoeira, percussion, handicrafts and language teaching
๐ฟ Participating in permaculture gardening and eco-friendly farming activities
๐ Supporting edible plant processing and sustainable food initiatives
๐งโ๐ซ Organising educational workshops using non-formal education methods
๐ Facilitating intercultural learning activities with the local community
๐ Taking part in construction and practical sustainability projects
The project aims to provide humanitarian support, promote environmental awareness and encourage discussions about sustainable alternatives and climate action.

๐ค Young people aged 18โ35 years old
๐ Living in an EU Member State or associated non-EU country

Available for the full 6-month volunteering period
๐ฑ Interested in humanitarian work, sustainability and community engagement
๐ค Motivated to participate in intercultural exchange and contribute to local initiatives
Participants must complete the mandatory face-to-face training before starting the volunteering activity.

Volunteers will be hosted by local families, providing a comfortable and safe environment with:

๐ณ Breakfast and dinner provided at home on weekdays
๐ฅ Lunch and snacks provided by the project

Umbรบntu focuses on organic food production, allowing volunteers to experience healthy and sustainable cooking practices.
๐ Transportation between accommodation and the project site is organized via local buses or Uber.
๐ถ Financial Support
Volunteers receive โฌ250 monthly pocket money.

Participants will receive several support and training components:

๐ Mid-term evaluation after 4โ5 months
